It is open season for Spring Salmon fishing in Sooke once again, with the "slot limit" removed today: Sooke Fishing Regulations

This means you can keep two BIG chinook salmon per day, whether hatchery or marked.

Reports are coming in of salmon caught from Sheringham to Otter Point, off the Sooke Bluffs, and at the Trap Shack. Yesterday, one lucky angler caught a 39.5 pounder at the Trap...to my mind, that's so darn close, I think I'd be calling it a 40 pounder! :-)

Get your boat in the water and go out and catch some fish....and as always, even if you don't catch one, it's a nice way to spend a day...
